MediaTek has officially introduced its new Dimensity 8450 chipset at the India Dimensity Summit.
The Dimensity 8450 is built on a 4nm process and uses eight Arm Cortex-A725 CPU cores.
It features an all-big-core design with a mix of 1MB, 512KB, and 256KB L2 caches, along with 6MB of L3 and 5MB of system-level cache. The GPU is a Mali-G720 MC7.
The chipset includes the NPU 880 with MediaTek’s Agentic AI Engine. It supports generative AI and large language models, handling AI tasks directly on the device.
It can record 4K video at 60fps with HDR and uses a dual EIS engine for better stabilization. MediaTek’s Live Broadcast Booster improves face clarity during live streams while using less power.
For photography, the Imagiq 1080 ISP supports up to 320MP sensors. It includes features like in-sensor zoom, QPD remozaic, zero-lag HDR, and full PDAF coverage. It also supports WQHD+ displays at 144Hz and dual-screen setups.
Gaming features include HyperEngine MAGT 3.0, which improves touch response and manages 5G to Wi-Fi switching.
Connectivity options include 3CC carrier aggregation with speeds up to 5.17 Gbps, Wi-Fi 6E (2T2R), and Bluetooth 5.4. The chipset also supports LPDDR5X RAM (up to 8533 Mbps) and UFS 4.0 storage with MCQ.
Stay tuned for more details on which devices will be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset.
