So today, we’re going to talk about the HONOR Pad X9a and find out what makes it stand out in the competitive tablet market.

Design and Build

Let’s begin with its design. Considering the price point, the tablet feels solid and premium. It has an aluminum back panel with a soft, matte-like finish that doesn’t easily attract fingerprint smudges.

It’s also fairly easy to carry and use with one hand, as it weighs only 475 grams. Surprisingly, it doesn’t feel that heavy. It has a slim profile, measuring just 6.77 millimeters thick, and the aluminum frame adds to its durability.

Looking at the button and port placements, the power button and volume rockers are located on the top side. Two speaker grilles and a USB-C port can be found on the right, while two more speaker grilles are on the left side.

Overall, there isn’t much that stands out in terms of appearance, as it looks quite similar to most tablets in the market. But the lightweight design definitely makes it ideal for long-term usage without fatigue.

Display

Now moving on to the display, the HONOR Pad X9a features an 11.5-inch 2.5K IPS LCD with a resolution of 1504 by 2508 and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

We used it for entertainment, and it provided sharp, crisp visuals with vibrant color reproduction. While the bezels are relatively thick, they’re ergonomically designed so your fingers don’t block the screen during use.

One downside is its peak brightness of only 400 nits, which makes it difficult to use in bright outdoor environments. Despite the limited brightness and lack of extra display features, it still offers a good experience for both entertainment and productivity.

Camera

In terms of cameras, the HONOR Pad X9a is equipped with a single 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The rear camera delivers decent image quality with acceptable color saturation, although it struggles in low-light settings where photos turn out soft and noisy.

Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Performance, Chipset, Storage

Now let’s take a look at its performance. Powering the HONOR Pad X9a is a 6-nanometer Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G processor, running on Android 15 with MagicOS 9.0.

The unit we reviewed came with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal storage. It also supports an additional 6 gigabytes of virtual RAM through HONOR RAM Turbo.

While the chipset isn’t the most powerful in the market, it’s more than capable of handling everyday tasks and multitasking. We even tried playing Call of Duty: Mobile on it, and the performance was surprisingly smooth, with only occasional frame drops or stutters.

Battery and Charging

As for the battery, the HONOR Pad X9a is backed by a large 8,300 mAh battery paired with 35-watt wired charging. In everyday use, it provides long battery life, especially for casual users.

In our video loop test, it lasted about 17 hours and 12 minutes. Charging the tablet from 0 to 100 percent took approximately 2 hours and 12 minutes.

While the charging speed isn’t the fastest, it’s decent given the size of the battery.

Pricing and Verdict

Finally, let’s talk about the price. The HONOR Pad X9a is priced at PHP10,999 for the 6GB plus 128GB variant. If you want the keyboard bundle, the price goes up to PHP11,999 for the same storage configuration.

To wrap it up, the HONOR Pad X9a is a solid choice in the mid-range tablet category. It offers a smooth high refresh rate display, a large battery, decent performance, and a premium build, all at an affordable price.

While the camera department may not be its strongest point, it delivers well in most other aspects. If you’re comparing options in this price range, the HONOR Pad X9a is definitely worth adding to your shortlist.
