Aside from the Dimensity 9400e, MediaTek has officially launched its latest MediaTek T930 chipset.
The new platform is designed using a 4nm process and supports sub-6GHz bands, with peak 5G download speeds of up to 10Gbps.
One of the key features of the MediaTek T930 is its support for 6-carrier aggregation (6CC-CA) on the downlink and 3-transmit antenna layers (3Tx), enabling upload speeds of up to 2.8Gbps.
It also supports 8 receive antennas (8Rx) with 200MHz downlink bandwidth, which is expected to improve signal coverage and spectrum efficiency by around 40% at the cell edge.
The chipset complies with the latest 3GPP Release 18 standard and includes modem features like 3Tx and Low Latency Low Loss Scalable Throughput (L4S).
It is powered by MediaTek’s M90 5G modem, a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU, and a dedicated network processor for full-speed 5G to Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity.
Other components include an RF transceiver, GNSS receiver, and power management system. The platform can also work with a dedicated NPU to enable AI-powered gateway devices for on-device processing and smart network interactions.
MediaTek says it is already working with partners to bring the T930 chipset to FWA and Mi-Fi devices globally. Stay tuned!
