HUAWEI has officially confirmed that the Pura 80 Series will launch in China.
The lineup is expected to include three models, Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, and Pura 80 Ultra.
A teaser photo reveals two large camera lenses, which may hint at a dual-periscope zoom system. According to reports, the Pura 80 Ultra could feature a new 1-inch LOFIC CMOS sensor (model SC5A0CS) developed by SmartSens. This LOFIC technology is said to improve dynamic range, offering better photo quality in challenging lighting.
The Ultra model might also come with a 50MP 1/1.3-inch periscope telephoto lens, making it one of the largest telephoto lenses ever used on a smartphone.
HUAWEI is also expected to introduce an upgraded version of its Maple Original Colour Imaging technology, possibly version 2.0, which aims to improve color accuracy and image quality.
This time, HUAWEI may skip the retractable lens design and instead use a compact multi-camera module. Depending on the model, the camera layout could either be triangular or concentric.
All models in the HUAWEI Pura 80 Series will run on HarmonyOS 5 and be powered by the Kirin 9020 processor.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Series is officially launching on June 11, 2025 in China. Other details are still unconfirmed, so stay tuned for more updates.
